This was the first show of the Flaming Lips-Beck tour. In addition, it was the debut of Kliph Scurlock drumming on stage with the Lips. It was originally a "secret show" open only to Pomona College students but was later opened up to the general public. The Flaming Lips played their opening set and then joined Beck halfway through The Golden Age after his acoustic set, which would be the template for the tour.
