12-31-2009 New Year's Eve Oklahoma City OK USA

Venue: Cox Center

Opening Band: Stardeath and White Dwarfs

This show featured individual sets from both The Flaming Lips and Stardeath And White Dwarfs, followed by a midnight collaboration of Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon album.

In lieu of the UFO, the Lips debuted a giant home-made mirror ball for this performance. It was suspended in the center of the arena.

The Lips set was shortened to meet the midnight deadline for "The Process;" "Evil" was listed in the setlist but not played, "She Don't Use Jelly" did not have its usual singalong reprise, and "Do You Realize??" was a shortened slow singalong version, leading immediately into the 60-second New Year's countdown. "Auld Lang Syne" was not performed. The balloon drop began preemptively during "Do You Realize??" and lasted all the way through "The Process."

The Dark Side Of The Moon set began with a stripped down organ and vocoder version of "Eclipse," during which Wayne shined lasers embedded in his giant hands off of the mirror ball. At other points of the Dark Side set, lasers from behind the stage and rainbow colored lights from around the arena reflected off of it. Steven Drozd performed the vocal melody on "The Great Gig In The Sky."
