Venue: Chesapeake Energy Arena

From the concert press release:

An all-star lineup of musicians with a special connection to the state of Oklahoma has been organized for a concert to raise money for victims of both F5 tornadoes that struck Moore, Oklahoma City, and surrounding areas this spring.

Losses from these storms are estimated to reach upwards of $2 billion. Many of the short-term needs of the people affected by the tornadoes have already been met; the goal of Rock for Oklahoma is to help them with long-term issues and problems, such as regaining livelihoods. All of the proceeds will be dispersed to central Oklahoma community organizations and charities, via local charities.

The event beneficiary is UNITED WAY OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA MAY TORNADOES RELIEF FUND.

United Way of Central Oklahoma advises that monetary donations are the best way to assist the recovery efforts.

1. Give online to the May Tornadoes Relief Fund located on our home page at www.unitedwayokc.org. If you are having trouble donating online, there are two other ways to give:

2. Give by credit card - call 405-523-3598, 405-523-3597, or our main number: 405-236-8441.

3. Give by mailing a check to United Way of Central Oklahoma, P.O. Box 837, Oklahoma City, OK 73101 with notation for May Tornadoes Relief.

“Shakespeare said ‘It is not enough to help the needy up, but to support them after’ and in our small way we are trying to not just be here at the moment of immediate need, but to stay and help with the rebuilding. After all, this is our home and they are us and we are them.”
